This listing is for a set of 14 True Bullnose® stair treads made with Always Natural Shady. Each tread is 35″ Wide and 10″ Deep. An elegant but affordable alternative to a complete professional runner installation. ASK FOR FREE SAMPLES!
These treads are made using Anderson Tuftex Always Natural carpeting. This beautiful loop pile carpet is woven using 100% Anso high performance nylon. The two tones of these styles create a herringbone pattern which lends a classic yet whimsical look to any staircase. Anderson Tuftex describes this carpet as “A beauty in imperfection. Perfect patterns as one imperfect herringbone. Always Natural provides seamless satisfying appeal.”

These are already made and ready to ship. We made them 35″ wide, and they fit the standard 10″ deep stair with a 1″ thick or less step. To measure your stair depth, go from the back wall to the tip of the bullnose by looking straight down at the tape measure – no need to wrap the tape measure around, because we already added enough carpet for the wraparound.
Here is how we do it:
We start with this awesome 100% Wool carpet, cut it down to the correct tread size, seam the borders, permanently attach our True Bullnose® rigid edge, and then add a soft, non-scratchy padding to the back. (Padding is now recommended by every carpet manufacturer. It improves the comfort, performance and life of the carpet. We use a 100% post-consumer padding and the best part is we include it at no additional cost!)
As shown in the pictures, the True Bullnose® stair tread is permanently attached to a rigid bullnose piece so when installed, it will stay nicely wrapped around your stairs. Other manufacturers use combinations of tape or glue, and hope the treads stay wrapped around the stairs. Not these. True Bullnose® treads have a pressure sensitive material that keeps the tread in place and a strong, rigid bullnose edge that keeps the wrap-around in place.
If you decide to order additional stair treads, please note that we are not able to guarantee that orders placed at different times will be produced from the same dye lot. Due to the nature of textile production, both carpet color and binding color can vary from one dye lot to the next. Typically this variation is slight. We recommend placing a single order for all treads, including custom pieces, to ensure that they will all be produced from the same dye lot.
