This listing is for a set of 12 True Bullnose® stair treads made with Alfa Linen. Each tread fits stairs which are at least 35″ Wide and 10″ Deep.

These are already made and ready to ship. We made them 35″ wide and they fit the standard 10″ deep stair with a 1″ thick or less step. To measure your stair depth, go from the back wall to the tip of the bullnose by looking straight down at the tape measure – no need to wrap the tape measure around, because we already added enough carpet for the wraparound.
This carpet is made by J Mish, who puts it best: “Alfa is a 100 % wool, loop pile wool carpet with a thick, felted-looking texture that is tufted of bulky heather yarns. The classic color line consists of six colors – five warm natural color blends and one creamy ivory tone. Alfa offers a soft, warm environment, appropriate for the entire home.”
Here is how we do it:
We start with this awesome 100% Wool carpet, cut it down to the correct tread size, seam the borders, permanently attach our True Bullnose® rigid edge, and then add a soft, non-scratchy padding to the back. (Padding is now recommended by every carpet manufacturer. It improves the comfort, performance and life of the carpet. We use a 100% post-consumer padding and the best part is we include it at no additional cost!)
As shown in the pictures, the True Bullnose® stair tread is permanently attached to a rigid bullnose piece so when installed, it will stay nicely wrapped around your stairs. Other manufacturers use combinations of tape or glue, and hope the treads will stay wrapped around the end of the stairs. Not these. True Bullnose® treads have a pressure sensitive material that keeps the tread in place and a strong, rigid bullnose edge that keeps the wrap-around in place.
