This listing is for a set of 12 True Bullnose® stair treads made with Big Sky Light Grey carpet. Each tread is made to fit stairs which are at least 27″ Wide and 9.5″ (nine and a half inches) Deep. Most steps are 10″ deep. These will work on them, but there will be more space than usual at the back of the treads.

These are already made and ready to ship. We are offering these treads 27″ wide. For the depth, these treads are made to fit a stair depth which is 9.5″ deep (measured from the back wall of the step to the tip of the bullnose looking straight down at the tape measure — no need to wrap it around, we know how much to add for that). For the thickness, they will be made to the most common step thickness of 1″ thick.
The style is called Big Sky and the color in this listing is Light Grey/Medium Grey. It is made by J Mish, who puts it best: “Big Sky is a textured carpet tufted with alternating thick and thin vertical ribs. In the two-color warm and cool nature-based colorways, Big Sky is a complimentary backdrop for any type of décor.”

Here is how we do it:
We start with this awesome 100% Wool carpet, cut it down to the correct tread size, seam the borders, permanently attach our True Bullnose® rigid edge, and then add a soft, non-scratchy padding to the back. (Padding is now recommended by every carpet manufacturer. It improves the comfort, performance and life of the carpet. We use a 100% post-consumer padding and the best part is we include it at no additional cost!)
As shown in our Shop, the True Bullnose® stair tread is permanently attached to a rigid bullnose piece so when installed, it will stay nicely wrapped around your stairs. Other manufacturers use combinations of tape or glue, and hope the treads stay wrapped around the stairs. Not these. True Bullnose® treads have a pressure sensitive material that keeps the tread in place and a strong, rigid bullnose edge that keeps the wrap-around in place.
